These are excellent, excellent boots! They work really well on all types of terrain, were comfortable right out of the box. They have great traction on rocks and all other surfaces, and have a great feel for what your feet are doing. I especially like that they have a narrow sole, which makes them work very well on more technical hikes with scrambling on rocks. They are very light, and flexible in the right places, with good cushioning in the sole, while also providing good ankle support. The best boots I've had since my old Italian-made Vasque Sundowners wore out after several resolings. Definitely recommended.

The boots are great! I got them 1/2 size larger than normal and they fit perfectly. Probably something to do with the European sizing. After a couple of hikes I have no complaints. They're comfortable, lightweight and give plenty of support. While they look and feel somewhat like an overgrown sneaker they perform like a proper hiking boot.

I'll be short and to the point. I've got some sturdy-as-heck Lowas that are perfect for hiking in snowy and miserable conditions. And I've got some Columbias for trail running and light hikes. But I was hoping to find a great three-season boot that was lighter than the Lowas, but still provided more support than the Columbias. I wanted a boot that was comfortable and waterproof, with great traction and no hot spots. I picked these Salewas up based on the recommendation they received in Backpacker. I have had them now for a month and worn them around town and on the trail and have no complaints at all. They fit snugly and comfortably and there is literally zero break-in time. Great boots.
